Uttarayan:
This is meant for senior citizens (women) who are unable to stay with their families. It is a retirement home for them. It is like their second home, where residents get all the facilities to lead a routine life. It is today's crying need of the elderly, who are finding it difficult to live with their families because of space, differences in value system, lonliness which leads to a sense of rejection. Our endeavour is to keep the ladies happy in their lives and cared for, so that they have a feeling of being wanted, useful and certainly not lonely.

Marriages:
We receive many resumes every year from young men, who are looking for a wife. We look through the files and find suitable men for the girls before proposing. Careful research is done about boy's family background, property and monthly income. It is again strictly in accordance with the norms set by the government bodies.

Craft section:
The children are involved in creative work, assisted by their craft teachers and visiting people who are prepared to share their skills with these children. They do crochet work, mobile cover doilies, doormats made out of dicarded sarees or cloth material. Phenyl is also made and sold at a very reasonable price. Colourful torans, ladies handbags, woollen for tiny tots are also made by the inmates. Recently we bought diyas (earthen lamps) in bulk and then it was meticulously painted and decorated by the inmates of the orphanage. They were kept for sale in many schools and colleges and even in exhibitions. We got a very good response from the society.
